Hunger Games

When I found this site, I was amazed at how many codes were active. My cursor even changed when I scrolled over links. This kind of made it hard to navigate the site, but luckily everything was so straightforward that I didn't have to navigate much of anything.

Imagine a futuristic North America destroyed by earthquakes, hurricanes, and floods. Only the mainland would survive, and only survive on the little materials left from the devastation. The kids are now breadwinners, workers, or (if lucky), the ones who live in luxury, near the capitol of the remaining country that we now call “Panem.” - excerpt from Hunter Games' plot.

This site has some cool dynamics, and I must not be the only one to think that, because there were 58 registered members online in the past 24 hours. This RP is quite active. I have a few problems with the design work, but other than that I like Hunger Games very much.

  1. Design - 6/10 I have a lot of problems with this site's design, but also a few nice things to say. I think the colors, logo, and background are nice. The sidebars need to be separated a few more pixels, because they're clashing with the board's boarder. I also think that if they used a few drop-down menus, they'd have a much cleaner look on the sidebars, and may even have less sidebars if they were crafty enough with it. The cursor changer also was a bit of an annoyance, because I had to reevaluate where I was clicking. On the positive side, I'm glad to see a category splitter with this site, because it fits nicely. This may be the longest design review I've put on the blog thus far, but that really just goes to show how many codes were put into this one.
  2. Rules - 10/10 They know what they want. There seems to be a lot of rules, but they're pretty much elementary. It's also nice to see a PG rated RP, you don't get many of those these days.
  3. Plot - 10/10 Book based RPs are hard to find unless it had a movie made about it. This is pretty impressive.
  4. Members - 10/10 Lots of members means plenty of roleplaying opportunities.
  5. Overall - 9/10 I think if they cut back on the codes, Hunger Games will reach a perfect 10.
